We use an old ABB robot that in its previous lifetime was used for welding in the automotive industry: ABB IRB 6400 R 200-2.5. The robot type is 6400 R and it can carry a maximum payload of 200 kilos. At the start of our first project we were able to buy the robot second-hand from the company Voestalpine. The robot is positioned in the corner of our work space so that we have approximately 5 square meters of print surface. In the future it will be interesting to look at an arrangement where the robot is placed on rails. This allows you to print on both sides of the rails and you significantly increase your printing surface.
